Since last year’s election, in which Republicans gained control of all three branches of government, the Democrats have seemed somewhat lost and unable to develop a pushback strategy to counter the new administrations policies. Dear President Trump, last month we wrote wishing you well on your 2nd term in Office. This month we write to express concern about the negative tone your administration has put forward in many of it policies and pronouncements. We are only two + weeks into the Trump administration. Despite the administration’s onslaught of deeply troubling and misguided policies.
People feel tired from the hard fought election campaign. It is too soon to do anything they surmise; it is tempting to do nothing; better sit back and chill for a while and wait for a later date to re-engage.
Congratulations on your victory, President Trump. As you prepare to lead our nation, we urge you to address the needs of all Americans—ensuring equitable healthcare, protecting voting rights, tackling climate change, and fostering unity. Your presidency has the potential to shape a brighter future for everyone.
