Fight For The Future

Fight For The Future is a non-profit organization bent on ensuring that the web continues to hold freedom of expression and creativity at its core. Established in 2011, Fight For The Future has a central message to work towards a world where there is universal Internet affordability and access free of interference and censorship.

Fight For The Future has specifically focused on tech-enhanced campaigns in order to disseminate its message. In 2012, they organized the largest online protest in history, an Internet-wide strike that contributed to the awareness of the SOPA and PIPA bills in Congress, two controversial bills that would have impeded freedom of speech and freedom of expression. More recently, Fight For the Future established the Reset the Net campaign in order to combat infringement on net neutrality.

The organization has also expressed its opposition to WCIT-12, proposed legislation at the 2012 World Conference on Telecommunications, which it believes threatened to fundamentally undermine access to the Internet. It also sponsored opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Fight For The Future continues to find ways to challenge legislation that attempts to undermine privacy and freedom on the Internet.
