Indivisible

Established in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election, Indivisible is an organization specifically set up to resist the policies and agenda of the Trump administration. Former congressional staffers kick started the movement by penning an online handbook with suggestions for effectively resisting the trump Administration. This handbook became a catalyst for a movement that has gone on to resist Trump in a multitude of different manners.

The handbook outlines a four-point strategy. Namely, to establish a grassroots strategy in order to target members of Congress, to exert pressure on local members of Congress, to organize local groups and mobilize constituents, and to adhere to advocacy tactics which optimize pressure on the government and Congress.

By employing many of the same tactics as the Tea Party, Indivisible have matched techniques used on the other side of the political aisle to push back against a strong conservative agenda.

In addition to a keen focus on targeted electoral victories, Indivisible have also mounted campaigns to expand health care, protect net neutrality and curb Trump’s Supreme Court picks.

Indivisible are heavily represented in protest throughout the country, from the Women’s March to localized state corruption protests. They also provide accessible information about the Trump administration and upcoming events where individuals can demonstrate their opposition to Trump’s agenda.
